Hello my LFT family,
I’m writing to you all to update you a bit about my recent change in online presence. On the 25th of January, Instagram (read: Meta) temporary disabled my instagram account. The basis of this was “violating community guidelines”, without any solid evidence given. I was not given a warning or any pop-up that my content had violated any community guidelines at all.
I’ve spent the past week sending countless emails, contacting meta support, buying a verification to be able to speak to a human and more efforts to try and unsuspend my account. None of it worked and now, without warning or being able to appeal my case, my @loveatfirsttable account has been permanently disabled.
As for right now, I have moved accounts to try and start slowly rebuilding this important pillar of my digital presence. If you cared for this blog and the story behind it, I need your support now more than ever.
Love at First Table was a platform that was the catalyst for my work in the food industry for the past couple of years. It was the beginning of my bakery business, the reason i had the confidence to go through baking school, and became a community i could lean on after the death of my father last year.
Gutted doesn’t even begin to describe how i’ve felt this past week. I’ve lost years and years of work, my professional portfolio and so many people in my community that i’ve interacted with over the years, both nationally and internationally. This is a blow that will take months, if not years of active work to rebuild.
You can still find me on all of the following platforms:
Instagram (personal account renamed) - @loveatfirsttableee (https://www.instagram.com/loveatfirsttableee/)
Youtube - Love at First Table (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCypsvns4Miq-g6JYSxVj-Mg)
Tiktok - Love at First Table (https://www.tiktok.com/@loveatfirsttable?lang=en)
Substack - Love at First Table (https://substack.com/@loveatfirsttable?utm_source=user-menu)
As always, your support is always recognised and would love if you could follow me on my other platforms to ensure my content can still reach you. If i don’t see you again, I just want to say thank you for the support and love you have shown me over the years. My life has completely changed with your support for the work i do and i will forever be grateful you decided to join my online journey.
I will still be active on my substack with recipes and restaurant recommendations so clicking subscribe is the best way I can reach out to you directly in your inbox.
If anyone here has any ideas as to how I can get my account back, i will be forever grateful. I will do anything.
Warmest regards,
A very confused & heartbroken,
Tooba Haq (formerly Love at First Table)
This is really sad tooba, i really hope you recover your old account! lots of prayers :(
